MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN
Location: Mequon, Wisconsin
SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Maintenance Tech will maintain, rebuild and/or upgrade a variety of metal fabrication, assembly, and paint facility equipment by providing preventive and emergency maintenance as scheduled or required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Basic mechanical aptitude.
- Read, understand, and follow directions, blueprints, specifications, and engineering drawings to repair machinery and equipment.
- Understands the basics of machine maintenance.
- Under direction of more senior maintenance technicians, ensures plant equipment is running properly.
- Performs Preventative Maintenance on equipment as scheduled.
- Maintains documentation of equipment.
- Organizes tooling and maintenance area.
- May assist in rebuilds or upgrades on equipment as necessary.
- Works with high level of safety compliance and follows the Super Steel Quality Management System (QMS).
- Keeps leaders and coworkers informed.
- Assists maintenance techs with daily tasks.
- Complete and maintain all necessary and associated paperwork.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Adhere to all Super Steel and OSHA safety related work rules and procedures.
- Supplies own hand tools.
- Other duties as assigned or required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform essential duties satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or abilities required.
- High school diploma or general education (GED) and three or more years of machinery and equipment, repair and maintenance experience; equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- Must possess basic electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, pipefitting, and welding knowledge.
- Forklift and crane certification preferred.
- Ability to use manual and powered hand tools.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, machinery, and equipment specs.
- Ability to count, add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measurement including whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to properly clock in/out and complete all job-related paperwork.
- Ability to effectively communicate with other employees of the organization.

Protective Clothing Requirements:
Employee Safety is paramount at Super Steel. This position requires safety glasses and steel-toed shoes or boots and (where required) hearing protection worn at all times while on the factory floor. Occasionally, the need may arise for other protective clothing that Super Steel will provide.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; occasionally required to sit and talk; frequently required to hear, walk and continuously stand and reach with hands and arms. The employee will frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Continuously exposed to manufacturing noise.
